Quebec Experience Class Program

PEQ PROGRAM

The (PEQ)Quebec Experience Program is an accelerated immigration program similar to the Canadian Experience Class. PEQ mainly targets foreign workers, and students who graduated from a Quebec institution, besides those studying for graduation.

The first step in obtaining (PR)permanent residence in Canada through the Quebec Experience Program is applying to Quebec. Once Immigration Quebec issues a CSQ, the candidate can apply for permanent residence with the federal government, which will evaluate the application to make sure that the candidate is not medically, or criminally inadmissible to Canada.

PEQ aims to issue a CSQ to eligible workers and graduates without any delay.

PEQ requirements for students

  • Minimum age of 18 years and willingness to live and work in Quebec
  • Must not have violated the terms of student permit or CAQ
  • A Quebec diploma eligible for the PEQ OR expect to complete the course within six months after submitting the PEQ application
  • Proficiency in French at an advanced‐intermediate level

Diplomas eligible for PEQ

  • DEP(Diploma of Vocational Studies) that involves at least 1,800 hours of study
  • DEP followed by another short vocational program (in the same educational field). Both of these result in a total of 1800 hours of study
  • Bachelor’s degree, university undergraduate.
  • Master’s degree, MBA and Doctorate.

Requirements for PEQ Worker Stream

  • Hold an eligible work permit and must be currently working for a Quebec employer
  • At least 12 months of eligible work experience (skill level O, A or B) on a lawful work permit in Quebec.
  • French proficiency at B2 advanced‐intermediate level

What you need to know about PEQ program

  • PEQ is not point-based, and all you need is to meet certain requirements to qualify. Being a better-streamlined program, PEQ needs lesser processing time compared to other immigration streams of Quebec.
  • You need proficiency in French at B2 level (advanced‐intermediate proficiency) OR you must have completed a study program entirely in French.
  • No interviews are required for the selection.
  • Being the fastest route offered by Quebec for Canada permanent residence, you can enjoy priority processing in PEQ.
  • You are not supposed to begin another program of study after your application is approved.

FREEDOM OF MOBILITY

Though an applicant must show their intention to reside in Quebec when they apply for PEQ, they will have to freedom to live and work anywhere in Canada, once they become a permanent resident in the country.
