2026 Alberta Immigration Update: More Than 1,100 Invitations Issued

In the recent Alberta provincial immigration draws, held between January 26th and February 2nd, 2026, 1,169 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) have been issued. The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program had four rounds of invitations conducted across the different streams/pathways, which were the Dedicated Health Care Pathways (Express Entry and non-Express Entry), the Alberta Express Entry Stream’s Accelerated Tech Pathway, and the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The highest number of invitations, 915 invitations, were issued in the Alberta Opportunity Stream draw conducted on February 2, 2026. The Dedicated Health Care Pathway—non-Express Entry draw conducted on January 27, 2026, had the lowest cut-off score (45 points).

As per the latest update regarding the 2026 priorities and selection approach, Alberta has announced that the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) will give priority to candidates working in key sectors such as health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and occupations tied to communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream. There is also the chance of selections outside of the priority sectors. Along with the minimum score, other factors like experience in priority occupations, employment in Alberta as a licensed physician, and being a Francophone newcomer looking to immigrate to the province will be considered for selection.
