Alberta Issues 1,550 Invitations in AAIP Draws Targeting Key Occupations

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held 7 draws between May 20 and June 2 and has sent a total of 1,550 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination. The latest draws focused on attracting several skilled workers in high-demand sectors such as manufacturing, technology, agriculture, and construction.

In the draws held, the Alberta Opportunity Stream sent the largest number of invitations, which is 64.1% of all ITAs issued. Other invitations were distributed through the Rural Renewal Stream, the Tourism and Hospitality Stream, and several pathways under the Alberta Express Entry Stream. A notable development in this series of draws is that it included Alberta's first-ever draw dedicated to skilled trades in the construction sector.

So far in 2026, Alberta has issued at least 7,819 invitations through 43 AAIP draws, with the Alberta Opportunity Stream alone contributing approximately 4,850 invitations. As of early June, 2,587 nomination spaces from its federal allocation have been used by the province. The latest draws show the focus of the province in prioritizing in-demand occupations while supporting regional development and long-term economic growth through skilled immigration.
