Alberta has issued 743 invitations to immigration candidates through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), giving eligible workers another opportunity to pursue Canadian permanent residence.
The invitations were issued on August 14 under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, with candidates requiring a minimum score of 58. A separate healthcare-focused draw on August 19 invited 24 candidates, bringing the total number of invitations from the two selections to 767. The latest selections bring Alberta’s total number of provincial immigration draws in 2026 to 71.
By August 25, the province had issued 11,982 invitations for provincial nomination this year. Alberta now has 6,603 nomination spaces for 2026, following an increase from its previous allocation of 6,403. The province had issued 4,560 nominations by August 25, leaving 2,043 spaces available.
