IRCC has issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the latest French language proficiency draw. Candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 420 and who had created their Express Entry candidate profile before 8:04 a.m UTC on May 15, 2026 were considered eligible for the draw.
In 2026 so far IRCC has conducted 37 Express Entry draws. This 7th French-language proficiency draw has the highest number of invitations sent in a French-language draw since March 4 of this year. It has also recorded the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score for a French-language draw since October 6, 2025. The draw indicates Canada’s continued priority on attracting French-speaking newcomers, particularly to support Francophone communities outside Quebec.
Prospective applicants are recommended to maintain an active Express Entry profile and improve their language scores to maximize their chances of receiving an invitation in future draws.
