British Columbia Invites 500 Workers for Provincial Nomination

British Columbia invited 500 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). The August 6th occupation-specific draw targeted workers in five priority sectors: childcare, healthcare, education, veterinary care, and construction trades. Construction trades received the largest share, with 187 invitations, followed by childcare with 183 and healthcare with 124. Smaller numbers were issued to eligible education and veterinary care workers. Minimum scores ranged from 68 to 102, depending on the occupational category.

Candidates were selected based on B.C.’s current labour-market priorities. The province has indicated that future Skills Immigration draws may consider factors such as education, work experience, language ability, occupation, wages, regional employment and other strategic priorities. As of August 6, B.C. had issued 4,236 Skills Immigration invitations in 2026.
