IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has issued 1000 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for permanent residency in the recent Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draw. The minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) cut-off score is 531, the lowest CEC score cut-off since July 2025 (when the CRS score cut-off dropped to 518), a shift from the usual trend of scores in the 533-534 range. To be eligible, candidates must have created their profile before 7:02 p.m. UTC (Universal Coordinated Time) on October 8, 2025.
This is the second Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw in just two weeks, whereas previously, CEC draws were held once a month. For temporary residents in Canada, including international graduates and work permit holders, this draw is a positive development. The total ITAs issued through Express Entry draw results in 2025, including the recent draw, are 88,476, with 24,850 ITAs issued in the CEC draw type. In 2025, there have been 13 CEC draws so far. The draw thus affirms IRCC's focus on supporting temporary residents who contribute to Canada's labour market.
For candidates with scores always close to the CRS threshold and who submitted their profile before early October, the latest CRS cut-off score is more accessible. The lower scores and regular CEC draws will give international graduates and skilled workers in temporary status a better chance of obtaining permanent residency in future draws. It highlights the importance of submitting the profile on time and maintaining an active, updated profile for CRS optimization. It also underscores the value of always staying alert for draws to take advantage of the opportunity to transition to permanent residence through Express Entry Canada.
Note: ITAs issued from August 2025 to November 2025 are 1000, whereas in July 2025, they were 3000.
