Canada has updated its processing time for work permits. Several countries have seen shorter estimated processing times; a few others have experienced minimal change.
As per the latest data published on July 15, the processing time for applicants from several major source countries, such as Nigeria, has reduced, with Nigeria recording the biggest improvement. For applicants from Pakistan, processing times increased by one week, while wait times for applicants from India remained unchanged at nine weeks.
The updated time indicates measures taken by IRCC to manage applications and improve the efficiency of the processing. The published processing times are only estimates and not guarantees. They are updated regularly based on current application inventories.
IRCC has confirmed that processing times for study permits remained stable across all major source countries for the third consecutive week. In contrast, super visa processing times increased for applicants from the Philippines and Nigeria, while processing times for visitor visas rose slightly for applicants from Pakistan.
Prospective applicants have to regularly monitor IRCC’s official processing time updates, as timelines may change based on operational demands and immigration priorities.
