Canada has issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence through its Express Entry draw targeting French-language candidates. The August 6 draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 391, making it the lowest CRS cutoff for a French-language draw since March 2025.
Candidates also needed to have created their Express Entry profile before March 18, 2026, at 11:32 p.m. UTC. The latest selection reflects Canada’s continued efforts to increase French-speaking immigration outside Quebec.
With this draw the total number of ITAs issued through French-language Express Entry selections in 2026 has come to 45,500. Eligible candidates who received an invitation can proceed with their permanent residence application, subject to IRCC requirements.
