Express Entry CEC Draw: 2,500 Invitations Issued

Canada has invited 2,500 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residence. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the Express Entry draw on October 15, 2026, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 519.

This was the 61st Express Entry draw of the year. It was also slightly larger than the last CEC draw on September 29, which invited 2,000 candidates with a cut-off of 518. To be selected, candidates needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 7:00:47 p.m. UTC on September 21, 2026.

Canada has invited 57,250 CEC candidates so far in 2026. This shows that skilled workers with Canadian work experience continue to be a priority, along with provincial nominees.

Invited candidates have 60 days to submit their permanent residence application. Applicants already in Canada may be able to get a Bridging Open Work Permit so they can keep working while they wait for a decision. Eligible spouses and family members may also qualify for open work permits.

CEC cut-off scores have stayed between 516 and 523 since May. Temporary workers with Canadian experience may be able to improve their chances in future draws by raising their CRS scores, for example, through better language test results.
