Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has published its first temporary residence processing-time update for September, with several application categories recording shorter wait times.
Work permit processing times improved for applicants in Pakistan, falling from eight weeks to seven, while applications submitted from within Canada dropped to 113 days. However, applicants in India and the Philippines saw increases, with waits reaching 10 weeks and seven weeks respectively.
Study permit processing times for applicants in India decreased by two weeks to five weeks, although in-Canada applications increased by one week. Super visa applicants also saw improvements in the processing times especially in Pakistan and the Philippines, where processing times fell by 23 and 11 days. IRCC is expected to release its next update around September 9, 2026.
