Quebec has issued 523 invitations to apply for permanent selection through its Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ). The July 30, 2026 selection/invitation round, issued invitations across all four PSTQ streams.
The largest share went to Stream 2, which targets workers with intermediate and manual skills. Stream 2 issued 296 invitations, while Stream 3, for candidates intending to work in regulated professions, issued 110. Stream 1, covering highly qualified and specialized skills, issued 105 invitations, while Stream 4, for exceptional talent, issued 12 invitations.
The selection targeted occupations in priority sectors including healthcare, education, construction, technology, food services and skilled trades. Specific occupations included registered and practical nurses, teachers, caregivers, cooks, electricians, mechanics, welders and cybersecurity specialists, among others.
Candidates were selected from Québec's Arrima declaration-of-interest pool, with profiles extracted on July 27, 2026, at 4:39 p.m. The July 30 round was Québec's seventh PSTQ selection round of 2026.
The latest round reflects Québec's continued use of the PSTQ to address labour market needs while managing immigration levels under its 2026–2029 immigration plan. The province is also adjusting PSTQ invitation volumes following the reopening of the Québec Experience Program (PEQ) in July 2026.
