New Brunswick Advances 63 Candidates Toward Permanent Residence Through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

New Brunswick has moved 63 applicants forward for endorsement processing under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), following selection rounds held on September 25 and October 2, 2026. Unlike draws that issue invitations, these rounds determine which existing applications proceed to assessment. Successful candidates came from seven occupational categories: construction, education and social services, manufacturing, other trades, professional and IT, sales and services, and transportation. This was the province’s tenth AIP selection round of 2026, raising the year’s total to 695 candidates.

For foreign nationals already working in Canada, the AIP offers a well-defined pathway to permanent residence. Applicants must hold a job offer from a provincially designated employer. An approved endorsement allows candidates to apply for permanent residence and for a two-year employer-specific work permit. Those who apply for this permit before their current one expires may continue working under maintained status while their application is processed.

Applicants should also note two recent developments. As of October 14, New Brunswick is accepting AIP endorsement applications for all eligible occupations except fish and seafood plant workers, food service supervisors, restaurant and food service managers, and shippers and receivers. In addition, new AIP employer designations remain on hold through the end of 2026, so candidates should focus on employers that are already designated.
